Not eager to be dragged down, the singer's legal team quickly released a statement in Tomlinson's defense. "The paparazzi provoked and caused the altercation that occurred with Louis," it said. "It’s not the first time that a paparazzi has created an altercation with a celebrity."

The statement also alleged that Tomlinson was aiding his girlfriend, Eleanor Calder, who was allegedly being swarmed by people at the airport at the time, too.

Also coming to his aid, of course, besides his lawyer: Directioners. They're even rallying under the hashtag #WeSupportLouis. (To be fair, they also forgave him for not knowing what a hedgehog looks like.)

May we all find someone/an obsessive fandom who loves us as much as Directioners love One Direction in a post-One Direction world.
