Breathe. Just breathe. And then start your countdown clocks.
In 100 nights from Tuesday, adult movie watch online | Adult Movies Online September 5, Star Wars fans will be lining up for early showings of the next chapter in the Skywalker Saga: The Last Jedi. So if you've been living in Westeros for most of the summer, it's time to get your head out of Game of Thronesand into hyperspace.
SEE ALSO: Rey's parentage will be revealed in 'The Last Jedi' — but will it matter?About all you really need to know about The Last Jedi, also known as Star Wars Episode 8, is that it picks up precisely where The Force Awakensleft us in 2015 -- with Rey (Daisy Ridley) on a rocky island on the planet Ahch-to, wordlessly offering hermit Luke Skywalker his old lightsaber back.
To refresh your memory, here's the opening scene being filmed by director Rian Johnson. It was an elegant announcement video for a more civilized era (February 2016):
But to get really excited about the 100-day countdown, you're going to need to watch the teaser trailer released back in April (and then read our scene-by-scene breakdown). Bottom line: Luke appears to be training Rey, but also wants the Jedi to "end."
Aren't we due an actual full-length trailer by now -- usually defined as something above the two-minute mark -- rather than just a sub-two-minute teaser? Why yes, we are, if you're going by the Rogue Onemarketing timeline. The first proper trailer for that movie was released in the middle of August 2016; all we got this summer was a "behind the scenes" sizzle reel (see below).
But the chaotic galaxy far, far away doesn't work according to a cookie-cutter timeline. Lucasfilm likes to do things a little differently for each movie. A summer full of glossy magazine photo spreads and the hoopla surrounding the toyfest that was Force Friday II would likely have stepped on the fanfare of a trailer release.
Nevertheless, we're on tenterhooks, and would be surprised if we don't see a trailer by the end of September -- likely followed by an international version of the trailer with more information to glean.
And if you're desperate for more details, here's a quick roundup of what we've learned about The Last Jediprior to the final 100 day countdown:
Supreme Leader Snoke is back, wearing a fetching yellow robe. He's commanding a ship called the Supremacy, which is three times the size of the previous largest Star Destroyer. According to Johnson, we'll learn only exactly as much about Snoke's background as we need to for the plot -- which is to say, not much.
Kylo Ren is back, under Snoke's tutelage, and has a wandering scar.
We'll learn who Rey's parents were -- and we'll also learn the extent to which such information doesn't actually matter.
This will absolutely, definitively be the last movie to feature the late, beloved Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa; she acts as a mentor to Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac)
Rose Tico, a new character played by Kelly Marie Tran, is a mechanic working alongside Poe Dameron -- and is set to become Star Wars' first working-class hero.
Though Finn (John Boyega) starts the movie in a coma, and still has a crush on Rey, he swiftly gets up and about and on with his life -- hooking up with Rose for a spy mission on a casino world called Canto Bight.
Laura Dern plays a new Resistance leader called Vice-Admiral Holdo, a former childhood friend of Princess Leia.
Benicio del Toro plays a new character called DJ, the galactic equivalent of a computer hacker. Though we don't officially know what his name stands for, translation of the Star Wars language Aurebesh on a Funko toy of the character -- of all things -- suggests it's "Don't Join."
And then there are the porgs, cute bird-like creatures based on puffins, which inhabit Luke Skywalker's new home planet. You may have seen them filling shelves at your local big box store. Everything we're seeing suggests porgs are the Star Wars equivalent of Tribbles -- and that they may menace the Millennium Falcon by sheer weight of their numbers.
In which case, Chewbacca would be perfectly justified in performing a little population control and filling his rumbling Wookiee belly at the same time.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi arrives in theaters December 15.
