Over the weekend, Brin was also seen at a mass protest at San Francisco International Airport as part of protests at airports across the country, where refugees and visa holders were being turned away or detained.
Brin told the crowd in Mountain View Monday that he was "outraged" by the order as a immigrant and refugee himself, who came to this country at age six from the Soviet Union. He talked about protesting at the airport Saturday night and said he was "glad to see ... that people are fighting for what's right out there."
Monday's walk-out was employee-led, but Google said the company supported the demonstrations.
Since Trump's order went into effect Friday, Pichai emailed Google staff and said the decision affected at least 187 employees. Google also created a $2 million crisis fund that employees can match in donations up to another $2 million. Monday's Google Doodle was also a subtle commentary on Trump's decisions.
After the weekend, the hashtag #GooglersUnite was paired with the #NoBanNoWall hashtag used globally to protest Trump's immigration policies. In Washington, D.C., the #NoBanNoWall effort also came to life at a rally Monday evening in front of the Supreme Court.
Googlers used the hashtags for their walk-outs at offices across the U.S.
