The company says the phone has been designed for young audience who typically place a high priority on how good their selfies look. But its price tag, Rs 17,980 ($265), might be a little too much.
Other features of the phone aren’t as remarkable. The phone sports a metal unibody design and has a 5.5-inch HD (1280x720 pixels) display. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor, which comes coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. You can increase the storage by up to 128GB using a microSD card should you need more space.
The 20-megapixel selfie camera, notably, comes with a 'Moonlight Glow' flash which is aimed at offering better low-light photography. This camera has a f/2.0 aperture and Vivo is using Sony's IMX376 sensor with a 5P lens. In addition, the Vivo V5 also comes with a few software features such as Face Beauty software which it claims can further improve the selfie capturing experience.
On the back is a 13-megapixel camera with a LED flash. The dual-SIM capable smartphone supports 4G and also has a fingerprint sensor embedded on the home button. The company says it is using Hifi audio support on the Vivo V5, which supposedly offers better sound experience.
There’s a 3,000 mAh battery to keep the phone ticking. The Vivo V5 runs on Funtouch 2.6 OS, which is based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
