We have extended your PlayStation Plus membership by [one month]."
Under another Reddit post about Sony's thoughtful gesture, a handful of commenters corroborated that they also received one-month extensions on their subscriptions.
Many of the areas affected are still recovering and rebuilding, and for some people a free month of PS Plus may be a great way to relax and have fun.
Some lucky PS4 owners received PS Plus gifts from Sony even though they claim they don't live near any place that experienced one of the handful of hurricanes or earthquakes that caused unthinkable damage this year.
Some Redditors that say they live in affected areas did not receive PS Plus extensions, so it's not quite certain how Sony determined who to give the gifts to.
Sony has not responded to our request for comment.
