Update 10:45 am ET: A representative from the Los Angeles Police Department told Mashable, "The LAPD is not handling any reports or allegations into child abuse for Brad Pitt."
Earlier: Brad Pitt is reportedly under investigation for child abuse, according to TMZ.
Citing anonymous sources, the site writes, "Brad, Angelina and their kids were on a flight last Wednesday when he allegedly got wasted on the private jet. He allegedly went wild, screaming and getting physical with the kids." Someone anonymously reported what happened, triggering an investigation.
Peoplehas its own anonymous sources confirming said incident. An investigation by L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services, which is reportedly currently in the works, would be standard protocol. An early morning call to the department by Mashableattempting to confirm the news went unanswered.
Jolie separated from Pitt the day following the alleged incident and filed for divorce a few days later.
"A source close to Brad" told People, "He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children," adding, "It's unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light."
Jolie has filed for sole custody of the couple's six children: Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8. In court documents filed Monday, Jolie cited irreconcilable differences in ending their marriage of two years.
“This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time,” Jolie attorney Robert Offer said in a statement about the divorce Tuesday.
A manager for Pitt did not immediately return an email from Mashable seeking comment.
