It seems like half of the world's memes somehow mention 'sliding into the DMs'. Until now, anyone with a will found a way into your Twitter inbox. But, Twitter recently updated the messaging system by filtering DMs into two folders. Messages from people you follow will go into your 'inbox', while messages from strangers or people you don't follow will be filtered into 'requests'.
The update gives you the option to preview messages in requests before either accepting or deleting them. Once you accept a message, future communication from that user will go directly to your inbox and not into requests even if you still don't follow them.
Just be sure to keep an eye on both folders to make sure you don't end up missing important information from new potential contacts.

SlingTV just announced a new feature that users have been passionately requesting. The new grid guide was the most requested change to SlingTV other than DVR. The system looks similar to TV Guide's setup and gives users a better idea of what's popular now and what they should watch. It features what's on now, filters channels by genre and shows the upcoming schedule of every channel.
This is currently only available on Android devices. But don't worry, iPhone users! Support for additional devices is on the way.

First we saw it on Snapchat, then on Facebook. Now even Skype has added a story-like feature called 'highlights' to its platform. Microsoft launched the latest update this week in what is the biggest change since the video sharing update in 2006. Apparently, it's been in the works for over a year, so Skype doesn't want anyone thinking it just jumped on the bandwagon after Facebook made a move. The platform will soon be adding bots and chat options to be even more similar to Facebook.
CameraBag Mobile 3 ups your Instagram game by adding the ability to auto-divide photos into square tiles. You can then use them for multi-image panes on Instagram.
