Leading up to the release of the new iPhone,Watch Vagabond Online numerous rumors about the removal of the device's headphone jack have cropped up. But this latest one might be the most compelling.
On Wednesday, a Dutch language site posted what appears to be a technical specification sheet for the iPhone 7 Plus.
SEE ALSO: The secret reason Apple might be killing the iPhone 7 headphone jackThe document, which could have easily been faked, appeared on Techtastic.nland shows the details of an "iPhone 7 Plus" that includes "EarPods with Lightning connector."
If true, that would mean that all the rumors about Apple ditching the classic headphone jack in order to make users plug their headphones into the iPhone's Lightning port were true. The document also includes other details, including mentions of a Lighting to headphone jack adapter and a Lightning to USB cable.
The biggest news aside from the connection details, if true, is the device's capacity: 256GB. That would give the iPhone 7 Plus (if that's what Apple calls it) double the capacity of the highest end iPhone available today, the iPhone 6S Plus, at just 128GB.
Such a change would also indicate that hopes for a higher minimum capacity iPhone might be in the offing. Currently, the cheapest iPhone offers just 16GB, but some rumors have hinted that Apple will bump up the device's minimum capacity to 32GB, with the next tiers of capacity being 128GB and 256GB, respectively.
Of course, this is all still speculation, as the aforementioned specs document hasn't been confirmed and Apple isn't releasing any details until next week. However, in years past, there have been early iPhone specs leaks that turned out to be accurate, so there is a chance that the next iPhones will indeed ditch the headphone jack and boost storage capacities. We'll know for sure on Sept. 7.
