Starting Tuesday, June 17, Amazon is relaunching its Prime for Young Adults program, and effective immediately, young people ages 18-24 can sign up for a six-month Prime trial for free. After the trial is complete, young folks can access all the perks of Prime membership for 50% off the usual cost.

The program is essentially a rebrand of Prime Student, timed carefully to drive new memberships ahead of Prime Day, which takes place in mid-July. This isn't the first time we've heard of Prime for Young Adults, either. On November 25, 2024, an Amazon blog post announced the launch of Prime for Young Adults, with the same six-month trial offer and 50% price discount. Coincidentally, that November announcement came just four days before the start of Black Friday.

Amazon Prime is the shopping behemoth's hugely successful membership program, and it comes with perks such as free delivery and returns and access to Prime Video. Prime for Young Adults is slightly more inclusive than Prime Student, as not all young people will go to college or other educational programs after they turn 18.
