Now that the "open secret" of Harvey Weinstein's sexual misconduct is An Affair – Young Stepmother (2019)just out in the open, and no longer a secret, everyone's got something to say about it.

And with good reason. Those who didn't know (or claim not to have known) are eager to distance themselves; those who were pressured or frightened into silence finally feel free to speak up; and many, many people are eager to discuss the systematic discrimination that enabled Weinstein for decades.

In some cases, victims of other predators were inspired to share their own stories. In others, people with their own histories of assault or harassment found that their comments opened them up to wider scrutiny. Some delivered thoughtful essays or monologues, while others summed up their thoughts in a tweet.

Affleck's comments came under scrutiny because of his own history of sexual harassment, as well as his brother's. He has apologized to Hilarie Burton, a former Total Request LiveVJ whom he had groped on camera.

Allen, who is accused of sexually assaulting Dylan Farrow when she was seven years old, said he was "sad for Harvey" and worried that the allegations would lead to "a witch hunt atmosphere."
