Get ready for Live with Kelly and Watch Daughter in law Wrong Relationship OnlineZzzz...
Sorry, we just dozed off for a second there -- Kelly Ripa has chosen Ryan ZzzcrestSeacrest as her new permanent co-host, debuting the new Live with Kelly and Ryan more than a year after Michael Strahan announced he'd be leaving the top-rated morning show.
Seacrest has become ubiquitous at the TV hosting game since establishing himself withAmerican Idol back in the early aughts, and his quest for world domination shows no signs of slowing down. Choosing a career TV host for a new hosting gig is pretty much the least controversial choice the Liveteam could've made, short of hiring the equally overworked Chris Hardwick.
Seacrest beat out the likes of Scott Wolf, Anderson Cooper, Jerry O'Connell and Fred Savage for the role, and there's precedent here: In addition to being a frequent guest host alongside Ripa on Live, Seacrest and Ripa previously co-hosted several Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade specials for ABC between 2005-2009, alongside Ripa's previous Livecolleague, Regis Philbin.
Seacrest will move to New York immediately for theLivejob, but if you're a fan of his other hosting gigs, don't despair -- he'll continue hosting and executive producing his LA morning drive-time radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest, for 102.7 KIIS-FM, as well as E!’s Live from the Red Carpetaward shows, and ABC’s Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest.
Naturally, Twitter was quick to point out that Seacrest isn't exactly in need of yet anotherjob, but here we are.
