Thursday's women's ice hockey gold medal game was an emotional one for players on Green Bones (2024)both teams, especially for Canadian Jocelyne Larocque who was clearly displeased with her team's loss against rival USA.
The player took a bit of heat for removing her silver medal during the post-game ceremony and holding it in her hand for the duration of the event. The Globe and Mail reports that an International Ice Hockey Federation official later "forced" Larocque to wear the medal.

"In the moment, I was disappointed with the outcome of the game, and my emotions got the better of me," she wrote. "I meant no disrespect - it has been an honor to represent my country and win a medal for Canada."
While some on Twitter criticized what some perceived as a lack of "sportsmanship," others have come to Larocque's defense.
